The Stonehouse, which is located on the corner of Moreton Road and the village, was originally a farm owned by the Websters of Overchurch.
In 1919 the building and land were sold, the land was built on, becoming Welton and Larcombe Avenues. The farmhouse was converted into a bakery, with a shop on the right and a cafe 'up the steps' on the left.
After the bakery closed, the shop was divided into two, with various businesses occupying them over the years, including a children's wear shop, a hat and dress hire business, an insurance broker and a cafe.
The old cafe is now a hairdresser (still with steps leading up to it), and the bakers shop is a Florist.
