The land at either side of the woods at the bottom of the field was used as playgrounds in the early days of the school.
Part of the area occupied by the playground on the Saughall Massie Lane side was sold and is now occupied by Edel Quinn House.
The playground on the Moreton Road side, together with the site of the tennis courts, was sold for housing in 2002.
