The double doors to the right led to a small room which was originally the bonnet room, this now houses the lift.

Double doors on the far side of the bonnet room lead to what was, until 2005, the Dining Room.

The dining room is 55 feet long by 24 feet wide and had steps out to the ground floor balcony, and others down to St Anthony's passage.

The dining room saw little change over 142 years, the raised platform at the far was removed and replaced by a servery, the steps and door to the balcony were removed, and the tables were updated.

The room at the end of the Dinning Room, called St Anne's, was originally a classroom, but it has had a variety of uses over the years. In the 1960's it was a common room for the boarders, furnished with settees and arm-chairs. In the 1990's it was used as an extension to the dining room. During the construction of the Holt Building in 2004/5, St Anne's was used as the kitchen.

In 2005 the Dining Room was converted into a new Staff Room. The stairs down to St Anthony's passage were removed, and new steps were installed leading up to the balcony. At the same time St Anne's was converted into staff toilets.

A new Dining Room was constructed in part of the old Staff Room and the Cloakrooms. For more information see the section on the Recreation Rooms.
