 | Anne Gerhard | | | | | During the 'War Years', I lived with my widowed Grandma and Uncle in Devonshire Road. I have fond memories of her neighbours, as well as playing with the other kids in the air-raid shelter in her garden, running through the brook across the road, , and going with a Jug to the Diary, for milk. I also remember Sundays spent at Moreton Shore - happy times. I even attended Upton Convent School for a short while.

 | Jane Manning | | | | | I used be called Jane Quirk and I lived in Upton from around 1958 'til 1970. First home was at 19 Shrewsbury Dr and then 28 Meadway. There were actually two spinneys in Upton, the big long one and then a little short one between Shrewsbury Dr and the next road which I think was Heath Drive. I remember playing around the stone man and the river fender and the conker woods.

 | Nick Williams | | | | | In the mid 60s, when I was 10 years old, my weekly pocket money was 2 shillings, payable on Saturday mornings. The bus fare from Sandy Way, Noctorum to Upton was 2d each way. In Malleys newsagents, I would spend some considerable time choosing from the selection of Superman Comics (10d each) before getting the bus home again to Ullswater Avenue, two comics in my posession, my pocket money spent. Happy days, wonderful web site. Nick Williams

 | Gillian | | | | | What a wonder site I lived in upton from 6mnths old in 1969 left in 1991 to join the RAF. I know live in Aberdeenshire with my family I have had great joy sharing this with my children and I will definately share it with a friend who lives in a small village up here in aberdeenshire who lived in upton as well !! small world !
I lost my dad in the summer and was home in Upton for some weeks he would have loved this site, I wish I found it sooner to share with him.
I can't stress enough what enjoyment I have had looking at this site, especially the photos of cannon mcgonale who baptised me, did my 1st confession, 1st holy communion and confirmation !

 | Becky | | | | | Visited Upton went I visited my best friend and dear friends, and thought to myself now i'm here what can i do? So i went on a bicycle race round town whilst singing Bohemian rhapsody, and old ladies told me off to which i replied don't stop me now. I was served by a fat bottomed girl in the newsagents but she was good company, and introduced me to a good old fashioned lover boy. At last i had found somebody to love, and was involved in a crazy little thing called love, he even saved me from being run over...aww sweet. Unfortunately the driver ran over my bag of sweets and so that was another one that bit the dust, but i said to myself the show must go on, so we went to play the game in the arcade. The flashs were so distracting but we suceeded and we were the champions at the arcade. We bumped into this magican who had a kind of magic about him, who claimed in only seven days i would revisit Upton. He was right what a wonderful town, just the place to break free from the seven seas of Rhye (home). I throughly recommend others to visit

 | Phil | | | | | it nice to think upton use to be like this. but with super market putting local bisness under pressure. i want to brake free from the these supermakets full of fat bottomed girls. loacl shops are the champions, another one bits the dust day after day. we need a super hero like flash gorden to come and save, because with supermarkets everybody wants to rule the world, but i want local shops to live forever. one day us local shops will come back and we will rock you supermaket lovers, and u'll need to find somebody to love, who is a giant megatore. local shops are my best friend. phil.x
