 | Joe Maddocks | | | | | Brilliant website. I am a regular at the Eagle & Crown in Upton village. Surprised to see, from the pictures, how much the place has changed over the years. Shame to see 'Ian's of Upton' close down, that was one of the few remaining traditional shops.

 | Cate Newton | | | | | This is a great site - thanks for the memories. I lived in Shrewsbury Drive Upton and went to Kingsley Prep School from 1956-1962, (my name was Catriona). Would love to hear from Jane Keeble or Diana Dring and other old friends. Have detailed memories of some of the shops you have listed on your website, as well as Kingsley Prep. Also the Presbyterian Church (which is where Kingsley prep was based when I went there in 1956 before it moved to the house along the road) and the Library, which was a great place for young readers. Thanks for the pic of the Stone Man, he was next to the Cowley's house, and in our family he was called the Old Man of Upton.

 | Paul Kendrick | | | | | Not a past resident of Upton but in the late fifties my Uncle ( Dave Stafford ) had an old car garaged at a big black house? on the site where the Horse and Jockey is now. I know this because I had to walk with him from Leasowe to come and pick it up, good memories. Nice site, keep up good work.Paulk

 | Mrs Margaret Brown | | | | | Just found this site by chance doing the family tree of Mutch and Winson. I was born in Nursing home on Upton Road but lived in Salacre Terrace for a number of years. I moved to Woodchurch eventually, would love to hear of anyone who has any info of Mutch and Winson.

 | Ian Hunt | | | | | For the normal users of this site the following quote is from another similar guest book in Africa.
"Some morons with loads of time on their puerile hands have decided to hack into the guestbook and bombard the site with spurious, inappropriate and probably illegal entries"
Just goes to show how many Worlwide morons there are!

COMMENTA Few Statistics:
This Guest Book started in January 2004, since then there have been 93 genuine posts. There was no SPAM until the beginning of this year, but I have deleted 1009 inappropriate messages since then!
It makes me wonder if it is worth keeping the guest book!
On the positive side, the flow of SPAM is decreasing, and more filtering has been added this weekend.

 | Lord Lucan | | | | | As an old Upton resident,my God you spam creeps really do like to come out from under the woodwork. Are we supposed to be impressed? Do you really think that normal people buy your crap? You must spend days in dark rooms lit only by your pc screen, searching with your beady little eyes for yet another website to peddle your pathetic wares!Gives us all a break and try opening the curtains, there's a World out there waiting for you to emerge from your dark little places and do something constructive.
