 | Ian Hunt | | | | | I never failed to be amazed that when someone goes to the trouble of creating an interesting site, which gives pleasure to residents old and new, that spam morons think it really cleaver to use the Guest Book to try and sell their useless crap.Suggest they try and get a life!

 | sheila Ings (nee Firth) | | | | | Lived in Upton Village from 1952 to 1961. Went to Overchurch School, attended St Mary's Church and was best friends with Christine Midgley, the verger's daughter. We lived in the prefabs in Molyneux Road, which are no longer there. Am in touch with Diane McGill who also lived there and wonder where the others are. Have some photos which I will sort and send. Miss the wonderful years I lived there and although living in Perth Western Australia, still get homesick.

 | Barrie Heath | | | | | I lived in Upton village from the early sixties up to 1971. My Mother Barbara,(sadly deceased) was the manageress of Waterworths greengrocers 144 Ford Rd, we lived in the flat above the shop. My Father Robert was a Fireman at Birkenhead fire station. Your website has brought back many happy memories of my childhood, particularly all the details of the businesses and shops that I remember from then, especially Malleys sweet shop, were most of my pocket money was spent. I attended Overchurch School and went to Sunday school at St Marys. I later attended Rock Ferry High School and remember clearly waiting for the 8.00 o'clock bus every morning at the old bus stop which used to be situated in front of the off license, Ashe and Nephew, previously Gallaghers.
I still pass through the village occasionally, how it has changed over the years. Great site.

 | Linda | | | | | I am researching the WEBSTER's of Upton Hall for a friend. Any information on this family would be appreciated.
William WEBSTER b. c. 1815 Poulton cum Seacombe and his wife Elizabeth MATTHEWS lived at Upton Hall in 1851.
Am interested in the parents of William WEBSTER and who was responsible for the original building of Upton Hall.
Great Website which has been very informative - thanks.

 | Roy Hunter | | | | | I lived at 34 Greasby Road from 1956 to 1958 until my family moved back to Canada. I was only 6 when we moved away but remember playing in the Spinney with friends, going to Overchurch School and walking up Greasby Road for ice cream and candy bars. I also remember a day when a train derailed in Upton. I have fond memories of my brief time there.
